Jamie Carragher has been suspended from his role as an analyst at Sky Sports until the end of the Premier League season, the television network announced on Wednesday.
Carragher was suspended indefinitely earlier this week after a video emerged of the former cheap nike nfl jersey Liverpool defender spitting towards Andy Hughes’ car following Liverpool’s defeat at Manchester United, with the spit hitting Hughes’ 14-year-old daughter.
In a statement, Sky Sports said it has taken the decision to bench the 40-year-old pundit following an internal review of the incident.
“Jamie has taken full responsibility for what has happened and we will ensure he gets the help he needs to guarantee something like this never happens again,” it said.
“Before the start of the next season we will sit down with Jamie to discuss whether he is ready to return to his role.”
“We have been feeling under siege. It has been really worrying,” said Hughes, 42, from north Wales. “I have received threats, death threats and all kinds of abuse, and I don’t know how to deal with it. I worry for my daughter’s safety, I really do.”
Edmund King, the president of British motoring association AA, said recording the incident on Saturday was a criminal offence itself and felt both drivers “perhaps need road safety refresher courses.”
Explaining why he decided to record the cheap nike nfl jerseys wholesale incident while driving, Hughes said: “When you see someone off the telly, you get a bit giddy.
“As he was ex-Liverpool as well, I thought I would just have a bit of banter about the result. I just wanted to have a laugh with him because he comes across as a very amiable guy.”
Carragher said he has spoken to the family and apologised for what he labelled “a moment of madness.”
